Free pinwheels are available to raise awareness of child abuse in Boone County April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Boone County Mentoring Partnership has blue pinwheels available for free. Simply visit their office to pick some up. Businesses or organizations that need many pinwheels should contact them in advance to ensure inventory.
Thanks to the donations of dozens of people late last year around Giving Tuesday and into December, we’re actively expanding on-demand translation services at the CAC. We’ve purchased the equipment and licenses for the software from Propio are underway.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the first ever Fore the Kids Golf Outing a success. The event was a sell-out with dozens of players and sponsors who helped raise $16,867.
Sylvia’s CAC was one of several Indiana child advocacy centers and dozens of other law enforcement agencies, victim advocacy services, and prosecutor’s offices participating in the first-ever Human Trafficking Seminar hosted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice.
At their June 6 meeting, Boone County Commissioners voted to appropriate $21,400 from the American Rescue Plan Act to Sylvia’s CAC.
BP8, a Brook’s Place Program, in partnership with Sylvia’s CAC and InWell Integrative Wellness is offering an 8-week grief support group for adolescents.
