Who it’s for

  • For children in Boone County court cases, mostly cases of abuse or neglect
  • A judge appoints the volunteer; you do not sign up for this yourself

How they can help

  • A volunteer learns about the child's situation and gets to know the child
  • They help the child understand what is happening in the case
  • They tell the judge what they think is best for the child
  • They check that court orders are followed
  • They stay on the case until the child is in a safe, permanent home

How to get started
